Certalot Calving Terms of Use

Who these terms are with

Certalot Calving is made by Mocha's MindLab Inc. of Vancouver, British Columbia. By using the app or the web portal you agree to these terms. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies. Where the two differ on how the app is licensed, Apple's agreement governs.

Your book is yours

The records you keep in Certalot Calving belong to you. We use them only to run the app and the portal, as described in the privacy policy. You can export your book as CSV or PDF, and you can delete your ranch account at any time from the app.

Free, Full Book and Farm to Fork

The app is free for a limited number of calves. The Full Book is a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks the rest of the book on your Apple ID, including a ranch account and sync of your own book to the web portal. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may differ by country.

Farm to Fork, when it is offered, is an auto-renewing subscription. It renews at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before, and you manage or cancel it in your iPhone's Settings under your name, then Subscriptions. If a subscription lapses, anything you bought once, like the Full Book, stays yours.

All payments and refunds go through Apple under Apple's terms. Restore purchases in the app brings back what your Apple ID owns on a new phone.

AI-read entries and your reporting

Book-photo import uses AI to read handwriting, and it can misread. Nothing is added to your book until you check it and confirm each row, and you are responsible for the entries you confirm.

Certalot Calving helps you keep records. It does not file anything with the Canadian Livestock Tracking System or any other authority on your behalf, and you remain responsible for your own tag activations, birth reports and movement reports.

Acceptable use

Use the app lawfully and for your own operation. Do not try to break, probe or overload the service, get into another ranch's book, or resell the service.

Availability and changes

The app is built to work with no signal, and your book on the phone does not depend on our servers. The ranch account, the web portal and photo import are online services that we work to keep available but cannot promise will never be interrupted. We may add, change or retire features, and we will not take away what you have already paid for.

Liability

The app is provided as is. To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost records, penalties or lost profits, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Keep your phone backed up. Nothing here removes rights you have that the law does not allow us to limit.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. The date at the top always shows the current version, and material changes are announced in the app before they take effect.
